Create a course and add lessons

Teachers build subject content students can follow.

  1. In My Subjects (LMS), choose New Course and pick the subject and class level.
  2. Open the course and add lessons with text, a video link, or files you upload (PDF, documents, slides, images, audio and video).
  3. Use the arrows to put lessons in the right order.
  4. Choose Publish to students. Until you publish, the course stays a draft that only staff can see.

School administrators can open and manage any course from LMS → Student Progress.

Show a course to certain classes, and copy it to next term

Decide who sees a course, and reuse it.

Under Who sees this course, leave Everyone in the class level selected, or pick specific class arms (for example only JSS1 A). Students in other arms will not see it.

When a new term starts, choose Copy for next term on a course. The lessons, assignments and quizzes are copied into a new draft course. Student work, scores and quiz attempts are not copied, so the new course starts clean.

Assignments and grading

Set work, receive submissions and give feedback.

Inside a course, add an assignment with a title, instructions, a due date and a score. You can attach files for students to download.

Students hand in written answers, a link, or upload up to three files. Teachers mark them from Grade Submissions, add feedback, and the student sees the score and feedback in their course. Marked work is locked, so a student cannot replace it afterwards.

Quizzes

Timed, automatically marked, with choices that fit your lesson.

Teachers build quizzes inside a course with multiple-choice, true/false and short-answer questions. For each quiz you can set a pass mark and a time limit, shuffle the questions and options for every student, and choose whether students see the correct answers after they finish.

When a student starts a quiz, the clock runs on our server, so closing the page or changing the device does not give extra time. Students get three tries. If a student has a problem, the teacher can reset that student's attempt from the quiz results.

Online exams and quizzes (add-on)

Timed quizzes that are marked automatically.

Online Exams & Quizzes is a paid add-on, billed per term. When it is active, teachers can create timed quizzes with a pass mark, students take them in their portal, and they are marked automatically.

When the term for the add-on ends, exams lock and show a renew message. Your questions and results are kept and come back when you renew.

Use online work for the CA3 mark

Let marked assignments and quizzes suggest a score.

On the teacher score sheet, a subject that has online work shows an Online work column. It averages each student's marked assignments and quizzes and turns that into a suggested CA3 mark out of 20. Work that was due and not handed in counts as zero. Work that is not marked yet, or not due yet, is left out.

Press Use beside a student, or Fill CA3 from online work for the whole class. You can change any mark before saving, and locked results are never changed.

Follow learning progress

How far students have got, and who needs help.

LMS → Student Progress lists every published course with the number of lessons, the students in that class and the percentage of lessons completed.

Open a course and choose Class insight to see who has not handed in work, who is falling behind and how the class is doing on quizzes, so you can help early.

Live classes and attendance

Schedule a class and see who joined.

Teachers add a live class to a course with a time and a meeting link. Students see it under Live classes on their learning page and join with one tap. Joining is recorded, so the teacher can open Attendance on the class to see who came.

Students get a reminder shortly before a class starts. Parents can see the schedule for their child, but not the meeting link.

Notifications

The bell at the top of every page.

The bell shows what is new: new assignments, marked work, announcements, live classes and replies to discussions. Students also get a reminder the day before an assignment is due. Tap a notification to go straight to the page.

The content library, free and paid

Share books and resources with a class.

Administrators and teachers add resources to the library for a class level and subject. Mark an item Free to open it to the class, or Paid and set a price.

Students open Library from their menu. For a paid item they choose to unlock it and an invoice is added to their fees. When the invoice is paid, the item opens automatically. Library files are private and open only for students who have access.

Discussions and course announcements

Talk inside a course.

Each course has a discussion board where students and teachers can post and reply, and announcements the teacher posts for the class. Teachers can remove a post that does not belong. Students see everything inside the course page.

What parents see

Homework, deadlines and missed work, at a glance.

Under LMS Access, a parent sees each of their child's courses: assignments with due dates, whether each one is handed in, marked or missing, scores and teacher feedback, quiz results, course announcements and the live class schedule.
